Attractive special award for guest starters at the season final

Stuttgart. The final of the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland on 23 October at the Hockenheimring not only marks the season highlight for regular pilots in the series. For the first time, guest drivers can compete for an appealing special prize at the final race of Germany’s one-make series, where all rounds are run as support to the DTM. For ambitious amateur race drivers there is also the added incentive of their own prize-giving ceremony on the official podium and of course extra prize money: The winner of the guest driver category receives 3,000 Euro, second gets 2,000 Euro, with 1,500 Euro for third place. Professional race drivers are not eligible to enter this category.

On request, guest drivers receive advice on the set-up of their vehicles from engineers at Porsche AG as well as an analysis after the practice sessions. This exclusive service is included in the entry fee of 2,250 Euro, as are five weekend tickets for team catering in the Porsche Hospitality. Guest starters can register their interest though an active Carrera Cup team, but are not permitted to compete with a vehicle that has already been entered. A guest start is also possible via a new team, providing two race cars are entered. All entries are based on the regulations of the 2011 Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland. As race vehicles, only the 2010 and 2011 model year Porsche 911 GT3 Cup are eligible. Entries close on 20th September 2011. Should less than five interested parties register then the special category will not be initiated.

The final in Hockenheim marks the conclusion of an extremely exciting season in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland. From seven races came six different winners – evidence of the exceptional competition in this popular brand trophy series.
