Blancpain Endurance Series: Barwell Motorsport to run ex-Marc VDS BMW Z4

Former two-time British GT Championship winner, Barwell Motorsport, has acquired a potent new weapon for its GT3 title campaign in the 2012 Blancpain Endurance Series - the ex-Marc VDS Racing BMW Z4 GT3.

This is the car that won the last two rounds of the 2011 season, and was also on pole position for the Total 24 Hours of Spa. The BMW Z4 has consistently proven over the last two years that it can win in all of the major GT series, including Blancpain, FIA GT3 and also in the Dubai 24 Hours event.
Barwell is currently in serious discussions with a number of potential candidates for the remaining BMW Z4 seats available in its Blancpain campaign, including the blue riband Spa 24 Hours event. The team is keen to hear from all potential drivers who are serious about mounting a challenge for the Pro-Am Championship title this year.
Barwell MD, Mark Lemmer, said: "I can't wait to get going with the BMW Z4 GT3; in my opinion, it's the best chassis in GT3. We have won championships before with BMW and I'm sure with the right drivers on board we can win some more."
Barwell Motorsport established itself as one of the leading teams in GT3 racing from the inception of the category in 2006, winning the British GT3 drivers' title in that year and following that up with the teams' championship in 2007. The British team has also successfully completed two Spa 24 Hours GT3 events, claiming fourth in GT3 in '09 and ninth in the Pro-Am class in 201, with its Aston Martin DBRS9.
