Both Audi cars on the podium at Zhuhai

ILMC:
Audi Sport Team Joest clinched second and third place with its two Audi R15 TDI cars at the 1000-kilometer race at Zhuhai. Tom Kristensen and Allan McNish were clearly leading the race before a safety car period destroyed their 30-second advantage. When Kristensen was blocked by the second Peugeot that was actually no longer in contention shortly before the end of the race, the Le Mans record winner lost the lead and possible victory. After five and a half hours merely 4.826 seconds were missing. Dindo Capello and Romain Dumas occupied third place.

KK Performance wins at R8’s debut race

Marchy Lee, Alex Yoong and Matthew Marsh occupied twelfth place overall although all three Audi R8 LMS cars had to go into the race with 30 kilograms of additional weight after a strong performance in qualifying. Henri Richard and Allan Lan clinched third place for the United Autosports team. The second United-R8 retired while having the lead.
