Paderborn, 14.07.11 [FIA GT3-European Championship]
Only two weeks after the third round in Spain, the FIA GT3-European Championship starts at the Paul Ricard HTTT in Le Castellet/France into the second half of the season. Fischer Racing doubles it’s chances in the two races at the French Riviera and will enter two Ford GT for Mikko Eskelinen (FIN)/ Christoffer Nygaard (DNK) and Markus Palttala (FIN) together with the latest addition to Fischer Racing, James Emmett from the United Kingdom.

While Eskelinen and Nygaard raced already together at the former Formula 1-track near Toulon last season, Emmett will race this weekend for the very first time in the FIA GT3 European Championship alongside experienced sportscar-ace Markus Palttala. In the last two seasons, the track in the south of France wasn’t too bad for Fischer Racing. “The Ford GT benefits from it’s very good aerodynamic in the fast corners and has a good handling in the slower portions of the track. But on the downside, we are lacking a bit of top-speed on the long straights”, Christoffer Nygaard explains, who raced the Ford GT for Fischer Racing in the last two seasons.

“We raced already several times at Le Castellet with the Ford GT and scored points in the European Championship each season”, Fischer Racing team-principal Hardy Fischer said. “The first races this season showed that’s it’s difficult with the current balance of the cars to fight against the 2011 machinery. But I’m confident for this weekend and hope we will be able to score points with both cars.”

Both races will be streamed live in the Internet on the series Website www.gt3europe.com <http://www.gt3europe.com> . The races will also be broadcasted LIVE by Pan-European motorsports channel Motors TV.
