SEASON GREETINGS FROM FIA WTCC

SEASON GREETINGS FROM FIA WTCC
The FIA World Touring Car Championship's staff wish a very Merry Christmas and a successful and happy New Year to all the people who have given their contribution to turn the championship's 2011 season in a great success: the FIA, manufacturers, drivers, teams, event promoters, partners, sponsors, suppliers, consultants, media and fans.
From all of us to all of you: thank you for your support!

LAUNCH OF JTCC POSTPONED BY ONE YEAR
Concorde Management, that in 2010 announced their plans to organise in 2012 the Japanese Touring Car Championship in compliance with the FIA Super 2000 technical regulations, announced their decision to postpone the new series to 2013.
The company's manager, Masao Mizuno explained: "We have been forced to take this decision because of the large-scale damage caused by the devastating earthquake in North-East Japan earlier this year. However, we will try to have some exhibition races 2012."
WTCC promoter Marcello Lotti commented: "We fully understand the reasons why Concorde Management decided to postpone the championship. From our side we will keep on supporting their plans and other similar initiatives aiming to spread Super 2000 rules."
PROTEAM COMFIRM 2012 WTCC PROGRAMME
Proteam Racing confirmed they will keep on participating in the World Touring Car Championship in the 2012 season, with two BMW 320 TC cars.
The Italian-based outfit revealed they are currently in negotiations to renew the agreements with drivers Medhi Bennanni and Javier Villa who produced excellent performance at the wheel of Proteam's cars in the 2011 WTCC.
Team Principal Marco Guiducci commented: "We are facing a new, exciting challenge in 2012, especially because the championship is going back to Marrakech, which is Mehdi's home racetrack."
Proteam Racing are also considering a possible participation to the European Touring Car Cup with one BMW 320si car, as three out of the series' four events will be held at WTCC race meetings.
